Amma provides trained, nurturing birth companions to women who face giving birth separated from friends

and family. We work with asylum-seeking, trafficked, and refugee women and those with insecure immigration status in

Glasgow who are overcoming adversity on their journey to motherhood.  Here is a link to a recent STV interview about the work of AMMA https://www.facebook.com/ammabirthcompanions/videos/2450187841890439/?t=2 ~  Learn more at https://www.ammabirthcompanions.com/

The Glasgow Reiki Gathering has offered many donations over the years to Rachael's work with Tikondwe Youth Project (now known as Community Highlight) in Domasi, Malawi, Africa ~ https://www.facebook.com/groups/357910537612625/

Rachael (Lorna's Daughter) spent some time in Africa in 2012 and her work with this charity is ongoing.

Some of the work Rachael was involved with.... and that the Reiki Gathering helped to fund over the years ~   Educational Initiatives - working towards increasing the number of local children attending school, delivering children's lessons in basic Maths and English, co-ordinating a free meal program for pupils, establishing music and sports classes, renovating school buildings, delivering Adult learning classes.

~ Building the community’s first Orphan Hostel, complete with educational facilities.
~ Raising social awareness and understanding of issues such as mental health, learning difficulties, etc
~ Facilitating community health classes including first aid, sexual health, family planning, and aids prevention.
~ Working with the local HIV support group which meets twice monthly, and helping with the cultivation of the group’s vegetable garden.
~ Woking with the local Women’s group.
~ Working with Tikondwe’s recently developed Enterprising Initiative - promoting empowerment through business skills. Co-creating employment opportunities for local adults.... and much more! ~ Rachael is still very much involved in this project and is in deep gratitude to all of you at the Reiki Gathering for the donations over the years.

A donation was offered to Bumblebee Conservation Trust  to help save our bees ... and helping to save the sound of summer :)  www.bumblebeeconservation.org facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bumblebee-Conservation-Trust/184323594931922

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust was established because of serious concerns about the 'plight of the bumblebee'. In the last 80 years, our bumblebee populations have crashed. Two species have become nationally extinct and several others have declined dramatically.

Bumblebees are familiar and much-loved insects that pollinate our crops and wildflowers, so people are rightly worried. We have a vision for a different future in which our communities and countryside are rich in bumblebees and colourful flowers, supporting a diversity of wildlife and habitats for everyone to enjoy. A growing number of committed supporters are helping our small team of staff make a big difference. We have over 7,000 members and are growing fast.

Thanks to the generosity of all who attended...we have also donated to The Emoto Peace Project.
Over the past few years, The Reiki Gathering has donated to The Emoto Peace Project... bringing forward Dr Emotos' messages regarding the importance of our Water via his Children's book ~ The Message from Water Children's Version.   The Reiki Gathering has managed to pay for 1000 copies to be distributed among our schools and libraries in and around Glasgow... and also to everyone who attended The 5th Reiki Gathering in September 2013  and Dr Emotos Talk in Glasgow in October 2013.  This is an ongoing project with Lorna offering donations from time to time for more of these books to be distributed.  Over the years to date, we have managed to fund more 5000 of these fabulous books to be gifted to our children.  Your donations make this happen ~ for  more information available on http://emoto-peace-project.com/en/dr-emotos-message/

The Rucksack Project

Lorna was the volunteer organiser of the The Rucksack Project in Glasgow. This came from an original idea from Mathew White in Bristol to fill a rucksack and offer it to a homeless person.  The Glasgow events took off at such a rate, due mostly to the kind Hearts of the Glasgow Public and with the help of social media and local radio and TV interviews with Lorna. It also helped highlight the on~going and unacceptable situation of homelessness around the country. The projects happened all over the UK and beyond and made quite an impact on the general public who got involved in helping in so many ways. Here in Glasgow, we witnessed such compassion and kindness on a grand scale.  The project was closed in 2016 by Mathew due to a variety of reasons.  However you can still offer your kind donations direct to some of the homeless organisations around the city. Feel free to contact Lorna who is still involved in this work and can direct you to various drop off points. Here is a link to one of our past events https://www.facebook.com/events/802420676545986/
