Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word for which there is no word in English ~ the nearest translation is 'universal life energy'. This energy was brought back to our attention by Dr. Mikao Usui and was developed as a therapy in the early 20th Century. 

An Empowered, Spiritual and Holistic way of Living, Reiki has a deeply relaxing and profoundly calming effect. If you have felt the benefits of just one reiki session, imagine how it would feel to have Reiki on tap for yourself continually in your Life. Reiki has no religious affiliation, therefore is suitable for all Beings.

Reiki is a safe, natural, and holistic way of treating dis-ease within the mind, body, and spirit, it is healing energy in the Truest sense. Reiki is a gentle energy that can promote balance and harmony within and around the body.

As a holistic treatment and way of life, Reiki is a perfect complementary therapy to have alongside orthodox health care and can assist in developing a healthier and more resourceful state of being.

Lorna feels that her Reiki Lineage is a very Beautiful Gift, weaving through Teachers from both the East and West ~ Receiving her 1st degree attunement in 1997 from Kate and Alex Jones and her second degree attunement from Moira Withers. (Moira also did her 1st degree with Kate and Alex Jones ~ bringing the two neatly together) The style of Reiki that Lorna teaches is a combination of Japanese and Western methods. Lorna has been teaching all levels of Usui Reiki regularly since 2002. It is said that there is now over 100 different styles of Reiki available to us.   Lorna has been attuned to at least ten different styles over many years due to her natural curiosity and passion for Reiki. However she now only teaches Usui Holy Fire Reiki and Holy Fire Karuna Reiki.   As you are currently researching Reiki, it is important that you find the right style of teaching and the right teacher for you at this time.  You will know when the right teacher/teachings show up and it is ok to change your teacher through your reiki journey.

 

As Hawayo Takata is part of my Lineage it feels right to share this by her Granddaughter, Phyllis Lei Furomoto who passed over in 2019.    Mrs Takata is quoted as saying the following:~ "The Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki practice honouring the spiritual lineage of Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata and Phyllis Lei Furomoto has come down through the last 100 years as a respected practice that connects students to the unlimited incomprehensible life force that is called Reiki.  This system of practice has developed through the years as an oral tradition and has a specific form of practice for the student.  Hawayo Takata brought this practice from Japan in the mid 1930's to Hawaii and through her dedication it remained a vital healing practice through to 1980.  At the time of her death in December 1980, she left the stewardship of her practice to 22 recognised masters.  Those masters from these 22 who were called to a prolific teaching practice took Reiki all over the world.  From this practice came many of the different forms of Reiki practice in the World today.  All forms have a service to the healing and connection of the greater global community".

Reiki Workshops are available to Every One, from 1st Degree through to Master Teacher. All classes are certificated and each has a course manual. Lorna is often asked how long should be given between courses. Lorna feels that this is very much your own personal choice and she is happy to discuss this with you, however, you will know when the time is right. There are no time restrictions between classes and if you wish to discuss deeper with Lorna please contact her. Any One from any Lineage is welcome to learn with Lorna.

1st Degree Usui/Holy Fire Reiki ~ An absolute Gift to yourself as you begin your Reiki Journey. The first degree level will attune you directly to Reiki (universal life force energy) . This will enable you to give yourself the healing energy of Reiki, helping you to empower yourself to live your best Life, helping you manage stress, better sleep, pain management, low mood and day to day living. You can also offer Reiki to your family & friends, animals, plants, food and water. The class will include information about Reiki, an attunement/placement to Usui Reiki (and Holy fire) energy, hand positions for self healing treatment & healing treatment of others, practice, meditation, sharing, questions and answers. 2nd Degree Usui/Holy Fire Reiki ~ Moving deeper into this wonderful Reiki journey, we will review your journey so far and you will be offered the attunement/placement to the 2nd Degree level of Usui Reiki (and Holy Fire) and be shown different ways of working with 3 Reiki Symbols you will be gifted. One to help Empower Your Life, One to help with our mind and emotions and the third to send Positive Healing Distance Reiki to people, animals, situations and places when you are not currently with them. You will learn how to send to our beautiful planet ~ Mother Earth is in much need at this time. You will learn more about protection for yourself and the environment we live in. Cleansing techniques to create a Sacred Space to live and work in. Sacred Healing Breath Techniques. Also helping you manifest goals and an abundance of good things. The 2nd Degree Usui Reiki training will truly enhance your Reiki abilities, helping you to empower yourself in all areas of your life. This training will also allow you take it further afield if you choose to bring it into your business life. You will be attuned to the 2nd Degree level of Usui Reiki and you will be shown different ways of working with the 3 Reiki Symbols including how to send Distance Reiki. Learning the Reiki Principles in Japanese. The 2nd Degree Usui Reiki training will truly enhance your Reiki abilities. You will grow your Love and Compassion for yourself and others. You will grow your passion and love for reiki and for this Precious Life.  The 2nd Degree Usui Reiki training will truly enhance your Reiki abilities, helping you to empower yourself in all areas of your life. 

 

Through the Usui Reiki 1st and 2nd Degree Reiki Training you will also receive an introduction and placement Usui Holy Fire Reiki.

Lorna is very proud to have been one of the first students in Scotland to offer Usui / Holy Fire Reiki.  She started teaching this style in 2015.  As a Reiki Teacher Lorna continues to embrace the evolutions of the Holy Fire system as they present themselves, the most recent being Holy Fire III which incorporates further guidance on the authentic self and the opportunity to explore higher dimensions of healing and self-discovery.  Lorna received this more evolved Holy Fire III Reiki Master Class direct from her teacher William Lee Rand (International Center of Reiki Training) in Jerusalem in May 2019 with a group of just 8 other students from around the world. 

 

It is important to note that both our Usui / Holy Fire Reiki I & II remain inline with Traditional Usui Reiki teachings and that the majority of Holy Fire teachings are introduced at Master Practitioner and Master Teacher Training.  We continue to honour the strong Usui Reiki lineage and the traditional teachings of Usui Sensei but also recognise that there are now over 100 systems of Reiki being taught throughout the World.   We trust that Students will be guided to the correct System, Master & School for their learning and respect all lineages and therefore promote the inclusive nature of Reiki.

This message direct from William Lee Rand ~ 

The following is important information about the origin and development of Usui Reiki Ryoho which has come mainly from Hiroshi Doi Sensei who is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. Because of this, he is not only able to discuss Reiki with the old-time members of the Gakkai but also has access to their archives which contain original documents written by Usui Sensei. The information about Takata Sensei comes from discussions with members of the Reiki Alliance.

 

Based on this information, it is important to note that Usui Sensei was not the original creator of  Reiki as there were already at least four styles of Reiki being practiced in Japan prior to Usui Sensei creating his style.  One of the previous styles was called Reiki Ryoho and was created by Mataji Kawakami in 1914.  This was eight years before Usui Sensei created his style of Reiki.  Usui called his style Usui Reiki Ryoho, indicating that rather than being something original, it was his style of Reiki Ryoho.  Therefore, in order for a healing practice to be called Reiki, it is not necessary for it to be part of the Usui lineage.  In addition, Usui changed his system throughout the time he was practicing.  As an example, when he first began giving attunements, he had no regular method but would simply touch the student, sometimes on the shoulders, at other times on the hips or the knees.  It was only after he began training other teachers that he created a regular style of attunement that everyone practiced.  When he asked Hayashi Sensei to take over Reiki when he passed, he asked Hayashi Sensei to develop Reiki further which he did.  Hayashi Sensei developed the attunement process and also began teaching Reiki I&II together when he traveled.  Then when Takata Sensei began teaching, she also developed Reiki and in fact, she is the one that added the Master symbol which she did in 1975 as prior to this, there were only three symbols in use in Usui Reiki Ryoho. 

 

So when it is mentioned that a Reiki Master is teaching traditional Usui Reiki, this could indicate the style Usui first practiced, or the style he developed later on or the style Hayashi first practiced when he learned it from Usui or the style he later developed and this is the same for Takata Sensei as she developed her system during the time she was teaching as well.

 

The Holy Fire® system of Reiki was developed out of the inspiration provided by Usui Sensei and his quest to allow the Reiki energy to guide him in developing Reiki further.  And in fact, when I first learned Reiki I from Bethel Phagh in 1981, the Reiki energy spoke to me and said that it could be developed further.  It is this inspiration that has guided me in the development of Karuna Reiki®  and also  Holy Fire®  Reiki. As part of our code of ethics, we honor all Reiki Practitioners and Master regardless of lineage or organizational affiliation.

Advanced Reiki Teachings, Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master Practitioner ~ This will be a powerful day where we will review your journey so far and you will learn more new skills that can be utilised to help you empower your own personal, spiritual, and intuitive development, as well as for working with others at a deeper level. Time permitting, the day will include taking part in, and information on the following:- Smudging, Discuss the ancient origins of Reiki, The Gift of the Usui Master Symbol and Mantra, Attunement /Placement to the Usui Master Symbol which enhances the effectiveness of all the symbols, and can be used for healing. The latest information on Holy Fire III Reiki, A Moving Master Meditation, Reiki meditation that strengthens the mind and expands the consciousness. Reiki to help solve problems and manifest goals, improve confidence. The use of crystals with Reiki, Use of the Peace Grid. How to make a Reiki grid that will continue to send Reiki to yourself and others after it is charged, learn a powerful technique to locate, identify and remove blockages of unwanted energy from yourself and others and send it to the light. A realisation that you are developing you Compassionate nature....Deeper and Deeper.

Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher ~ A three-day course which includes the Master Practitioner day ~ these days will be extremely powerful.  The training gives the information, experience, and attunement/Ignition required for the Master Teacher level of Usui/Holy Fire Reiki. We will review your journey so far, then moving forward. This level is very beneficial in helping to empower yourself in your own personal and spiritual development, however, it will also enable you to attune and teach others to all levels of Usui Reiki if you feel drawn, helping them to empower themselves and help others if you wish to teach Reiki. Time permitting the content will include the following... The Holy Fire symbol (for a total of five symbols). Complete Usui/Holy Fire Master Ignitions, Meditations, Experiences. You will be shown and practice the process of giving attunements/placements, experiences, and Ignitions to all levels of Usui/Holy Fire Reiki... You will learn how to guide the Holy Fire Experiences.  You will also be practicing how to give healing empowerment... this is a very beautiful and powerful way to remove blocks and offer healing on all levels.  The training will be intensive, and full of interest for your own personal growth, allowing deeper healing with yourself and others, with the ability to pass on this wonderful gift if you choose.

Existing Students of Lorna ~ If you have already learned any reiki class with Lorna and wish to receive the Usui/Holy Fire Reiki you are welcome to attend, resit and refresh the 1st and 2nd-degree classes at a reduced fee. If you wish to resit ART Reiki Master Practitioner and Master Teacher to receive the Usui/Holy Fire Reiki experiences,  Ignitions and all that is offered, you are welcome to take the class again at a reduced rate.  Newly updated manuals are also available to purchase if you wish them.
If you have trained as Master Teacher with Lorna and wish to shadow, receive mentoring and refresh your skills, this can also be offered at a reduced fee.

If you have learned any style of Reiki with another Reiki Teacher ~ If you feel drawn to learn any level with Lorna that you have already taken with another teacher, you are most welcome to receive the Usui/Holy Fire Reiki classes with Lorna and of course move forward to the next level if you so choose.
